Dental Bridge

After placing the bridge by Lynnwood dentist at Aesthetic Restorative & Implant Dentistry Northwest. Here at Aesthetic Restorative & Implant Dentistry Northwest in Lynnwood, WA we are passionate about restoring our patient’s smiles to a high level of health and function. When tooth loss strikes, it can be quite hard, even impossible to maintain the same quality of life as you had before tooth loss. That’s why it’s so important to consider tooth replacement options as soon as you lose a tooth. We offer a wide range of tooth replacement options that can restore your smile to its original luster, and dental bridges are one of the best options available. Dental bridges offer permanent tooth replacement to those who have experienced the loss of a single tooth and those who have lost several consecutive teeth.

What Are Dental Bridges?

A dental bridge is a permanent tooth replacement option that can be used to replace a single missing tooth or several missing teeth in a row. Dental bridges are permanently affixed to your natural teeth, which must be permanently altered to act as an abutment tooth, or they can be anchored to dental implants that we surgically place in your mouth.

What Are Dental Bridges Made Of?

Dental bridges can be made from a variety of different materials, including:
•  Porcelain or porcelain fused to metal. Porcelain does a wonderful job of mimicking the look of your natural teeth. The way light interacts with porcelain is very similar to the way it interacts with your natural teeth. Porcelain also does a good job resisting staining.
•  Ceramic and ceramic fused to metal. Ceramics like zirconia are an incredibly strong tooth restoration option because of how well it matches the aesthetic of your natural teeth. Ceramics do a great job of replacing teeth that help us chew, like molars.
•  Gold. Believe it or not, gold is one of the best tooth restoration materials because of it’
•  s unique physical properties. Gold does a fabulous job of feeling

How Dental Bridges Are Placed

The process to place a dental bridge usually requires two trips to our office to complete. If the dental bridge is going to be anchored by your natural teeth, we will take some impressions of your teeth that we will use to make a bridge restoration that will fit into your smile perfectly. If the dental bridge is going to be anchored by dental implants, the first appointment will be used to prepare you for dental implant placement.

After we take impressions, we will prepare your teeth to receive the dental implants by removing some of the enamel from your teeth. As mentioned above, this is a permanent alteration of your teeth, and they will not be able to function without a dental restoration over them from this point forward. We will then place a temporary bridge on top of your teeth to give you something to get used to while you wait for the permanent bridge.

Once we have the permanent bridge back from our dental lab, it will be time for you to return to our office where we will remove the temporary bridge and place the permanent one.
We are your dental home for comprehensive care in a nurturing environment.
